MY Approach
I believe that every person has the ability to heal their emotional pain, and this ability is already within. Love, joy, inner peace, belonging, and connection to self and others, are elements that form one's foundation for a meaningful life. These elements can seem compromised in the face of loss, trauma, and significant challenges. My goal as a therapist is to help individuals find the answers within and to provide them with the guidance, support and encouragement needed to promote healing. I work from a strength based, interpersonal, compassionate approach, using a spiritual lens, to empower my clients toward a healthier life.
With 15 years of experience helping folks move through the sometimes debilitating effects of anxiety, grief, and trauma, I have specialized training in trauma processing (including Accelerated Resolution Therapy/ART,) and processing grief associated with death and other significant losses (including Induced After Death Communication Therapy/IADC.)
I encourage my clients to realize the mind-body-spirit connection, as they find meaning in their pain and identify patterns keeping them stuck. I help clients to overcome symptoms associated with major life challenges such as grief and trauma, as well as symptoms associated with anxiety, relationship concerns, career changes, and other life transitions.
Treatment Services
I work with individuals ranging from age 18 through all stages of adulthood and my practice is LGBTQ+ affirming. Symptoms stemming from trauma, grief, traumatic loss, life transitions, and anxiety can throw off one’s nervous system and create physical symptoms and sensations in the body, along with racing thoughts, a sense of feeling detached or numb, and increased worries, panic, fears, hopelessness, and guilt. These symptoms can affect one’s daily functioning including ability to focus and concentrate, carrying out tasks, work related concerns, appetite concerns, sleep disturbance, and more. I use a holistic approach to help my clients move through these symptoms and thus, my services range from talk therapy to somatic healing modalities with an emphasis on mind-body-spirit. Some modalities and areas of focus I utilize are:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Guided Imagery
Meditation
Mindfulness
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
Induced After Death Communication Therapy (IADC)
Spiritual Exploration
Teaching Somatic Exercises such as Diaphragmatic Breathing, Progressive Muscle Relaxation, Emotional Awareness
Self Love
Inner Child Work
